Josh Richard

Josh Richard is a producer, composer, and recording engineer — and the person who built KOMPX Studios before there was a label to put around it. An analog console, a curated microphone locker, a live room tuned by feel rather than spec sheet: the studio came first, on the premise that the right room matters more than the right plug-in.

On "Love Cheats Me," Richard composed the music, produced the session, and carried it through recording, mixing, and mastering — the full chain from first take to final file, tracked live to tape across three nights with Jonathan Collins. His approach stays the same across every role: capture what's actually happening in the room, then get out of its way in the mix.
